CONFIRMATION

If you and/or your children are baptised members of the Church of England and feel that the time has come to take your commitment to your faith one step further, you can do so by being Confirmed at a service where the Bishop will ask you to renew your baptismal promises and will bless and commission you as a fully-fledged member of the Church.  You will then be able to take Communion in any Church of England church wherever you happen to be in the world.

Like most people in the Church of England nowadays, you were probably baptised as a baby and will not remember the promises made on your behalf by your parents and godparents, so Confirmation is a time when you can make those promises for yourself.

We had two wonderful Confirmation services with Bishop Mike in August and September 2022 and a total of 9 candidates were confirmed in St. Mary's Church in Higham.

Do get in touch with Rev'd Manette for an initial conversation if you are thinking about Confirmation in 2023.

    Confirmation for Young People

We run Confirmation preparation for all ages.  Each session lasts about an hour and deals with what it is that we believe as Christians.  We aim to make the course both challenging and fun.  This course will be on offer in future whenever candidates put themselves forward.

     Confirmation for Adults

If you have reached a point in your own spiritual journey where you would now like to make your commitment more formal, please contact the Rector, who will arrange to speak with you.  She will then either put together some classes individually tailored to your requirements, or will point you to such a course in a nearby parish.
